For Crowsnest Pass Council

Vision About Me Home

Welcome

Thank you for dropping by my website. I have been proud to represent Crowsnest Pass on Municipal Council for three years and I am seeking reelection on October 21, 2013.

Crowsnest Pass may be Alberta's best kept secret. Located in the southwestern corner of Alberta, the community is nestled into the Rocky Mountains just outside of the Continental Divide. Crowsnest Pass offers stunning views, abundant wildlife, challenging terrain and a rich cultural heritage.

In the early days, Crowsnest Pass was a community focused on resources. The extraction of coal and timber drew many people to the area, who then settled into one of the many towns now making up the municipality. Although faced with many tragedies, such as the Frank Slide of 1903 and the Hillcrest Mining disaster of 1914, the community thrived and grew. In 1979 the towns of Bellevue, Hillcrest, Frank, Blairmore, and Coleman amalgamated to form the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass. Today you will find a variety of small to medium businesses of all sorts and a growing tourism industry. Many residents still are employed by the mines just across the border in BC and others work in service industries that cater to the mines.

Crowsnest Pass brings many amenities to its visitors and residents. Attractions such as the Frank Slide Interpretive Center, the Crowsnest Museum and the Bellevue Underground Mine Tour, welcome visitors for daily tours. The community is also supported by the local Chamber of Commerce, which offers a variety of services to its members. Crowsnest Pass is served by a Municipal Council and town staff that welcome new businesses, new residents, and new opportunities.

Outdoor recreation abounds in the area whether your interest is fly fishing, mountain biking, rock climbing, scrambling, road cycling, ice climbing, cross country skiing, snowboarding or downhill skiing; there are endless opportunities to get out and play.
