For Crowsnest Pass Council

Vision About Me Home

About Me

I am Alberta born and raised. I grew up in Spruce Grove, just outside of Edmonton, back when it was still a small town. I have traveled extensively around the world and resided in many different communities. After a winding road, here I am living in Crowsnest Pass and there is no place I would rather be.

I believe strongly in dedication, accountability, diplomacy, and integrity. I say what I mean and I stand behind my words. I bring these values with me to the council chambers.

If I am not in council meetings, working in my office, or volunteering in the community, I am also an avid outdoorsman and you will see me rambling through the mountains around our community. Along with my wife, Sarah, we are active in the community. We support a number of causes both through donations and volunteer time.

Professional and Educational Background

First and foremost, I am a businessman. I believe in the power of businesses and their ability to do great things. I also believe that businesses have an obligation to support their community and work with the residents to make things better. It has to be a two-way street.

I am co-owner of Full Moon Adventure Company, the group that hosts the Sinister 7 Ultra + Relay here in Crowsnest Pass, as well as a variety of other events. With a lot of hard work over the past 14 years, we have taken this little company from a hobby to a viable business.

I am also an independent contractor offering marketing and design services throughout western Canada. Again, through hard work and dedication, I have grown a large client base that I am proud to support. We also own and manage rental property in the community.

Prior to moving to Crowsnest Pass, I worked for ten years at Haworth, Ltd; a global company with over $1.5B in annual sales, and North America's second largest office furniture manufacturer. I worked in Product Development and then Marketing, where I was fortunate to collaborate on many multi-million dollar projects with a talented team of people. This experience will greatly aid me in my role on council.

I have a Bachelor Degree in Industrial Design from the Emily Carr University in Vancouver, BC. Industrial Design is a broad field and I specialized in designing products for mass production. I have had the opportunity to work as a designer in consumer electronics, medical equipment, and furniture production over the past 15 years. Needless to say I have a keen interest in manufacturing. I have taken additional studies in Political Science, as well as several manufacturing technology courses. I have enjoyed taking the seminars and workshops offered to municipal officials and this has greatly assisted me with my time on council.

So why am I running for Council again?

I originally ran for council because I care deeply about what happens in our community. I did not make the decision to move here lightly and I want to be involved in making this place better and better. I do not like to sit on the sidelines. I am running again because I want to see through the initiatives we have started.

I believe that everyone should give back to their community in some way. I feel that I have the professional and personal experience to affect positive change here in Crowsnest Pass.

Due to my commitment to being involved, as well as my business sense, I was encouraged to run for a seat on council. I appreciate the continual support of our residents as we move Crowsnest Pass forward.
